Alice Patricia (Pat) Pearson

Alice Patricia (Pat) Pearson, born June 11, 1945 of Stillwater, MN, passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2018 at age 73 after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Pat was raised in Litchfield, MN, one of eight children to parents, Robert and Elaine Peifer. She had a strong Catholic upbringing and sense of family that contributed to her core values that would last a lifetime. She met her future husband of nearly 53 years, Dr. Harold (Harry) Pearson, while growing up in Litchfield. Settling in Stillwater, they raised their three children. Pat’s true joy in life was her family, both immediate and extended. She created a home environment that exuded beauty, grace and peace, while hosting many holidays, parties and celebrations. Pat had a variety of interests and hobbies, including gardening - creating breathtaking gardens at their home along the bluffs of the St. Croix river, which led to her own plant-scape business that could be seen and appreciated by all throughout local businesses. She loved sports - actively (tennis, golf, skiing and hiking) as well as attending (Vikings, Twins, Gophers - and, of course, her children and grandchildren’s various events: dance, football, basketball, tennis and soccer. Pat excelled at making lifelong friends while playing Bridge and participating in garden club and gourmet dinner groups. She and Harry enjoyed traveling the world, from the Boundary Waters and North Shore to Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Pat was a member of the St. Michael’s Church Choir for 30 years, and her love of music was culminated by singing with her sister’s choir at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome. Pat will be remembered by family and friends as someone whom you could always turn to in a time of need or simply the warm touch of assurance that everything would be all right. She was a steady rock of support and kindness for all who knew her. She exemplified courage during her 8-year battle with multiple myeloma, while never wavering in her faith or love for those dear to her. Pat is survived by her husband, Dr. Harold (Harry) Pearson; her children Sue (Dave) Woodbeck, Chris (Melissa) Pearson, Scott (Amber) Pearson; her grandchildren Justin, Alli and Josh (Woodbeck), August and Anika (Pearson), Mason, Max, Lainey, Everly (Pearson) and Brooklyn (Simonitch); siblings Sue Konietzko, Art (Daralyn) Peifer, Rick (Lisa) Peifer, Jack Peifer, Mark Peifer and Deb (Al) Judd. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elaine Peifer, her brother Robert Peifer Jr. and brother-in-law Neil Konietzko. Visitation will be held Monday, Oct.15, 2018, at Simonet Funeral Home from 4- 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at St. Michael’s Church in Stillwater, preceded by a visitation starting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Society or Lakeview Hospital Hospice.
