Barbara Gunderson Carter

Barbara Gunderson Carter, age 63, left this world peacefully on Sunday, September 9th 2018 in her loving Shafer MN home. She was born on January 8th, 1955 in Washington Co. Minnesota. Barb grew up in Grant Township (Stillwater) MN, with her doting parents John and Beulah Gunderson as well as her loving sisters, Becky Cossor and Jeneen Johnson. Barb is survived by her loving significant other, Steve Holt and his family; children, Stacy (Geoff) Carter-Davis, Robyn (Michael) Cran and Nicholas (Amanda) Carter; grandchildren, Alexis, Coal, Honor, Zoe, Ashton, Rylea, Marley, Chloe and Colin; sisters, Becky (Jim) and Jeneen; nieces and nephews along with their families; as well as Matthew Carter and family. Barb is preceded in death by her parents, John and Beulah (Anderson) Gunderson; her brothers-in-law, Patrick Cossor Sr. and Raymond “Digger” Johnson. Barb worked for many years in the healthcare field, and most recently driving the transport van for disabled workers in the Chisago County area. She loved her time with friends, family, working her and Steve’s farm (esp. her chickens), taking in nature's beauty that came with each season especially during a long car ride, enjoying memories through stories and pictures, listening to her favorite music and watching movies. Barb loved her family very much, never ending a visit or phone call without sharing her “I love you”. She will be missed by many who love her dearly. A Celebration of Barb’s Life will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, September 22nd at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 N. Osgood Ave., Stillwater, MN 55082.
