Benjie Fennern, age 60, of Osceola, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2023 at his home after struggling with diabetes for many years. Benjie was born on November 15, 1962 in Stillwater, Minnesota to Bernard and Shirley Fennern. He grew up in Bayport, Minnesota and attended Stillwater High School. Benjie was united in marriage to Tamara Chiconis on November 23, 1997, and they were blessed with two daughters, Sophia and Hannah. Benjie loved his family and was extremely proud of his daughters and their accomplishments. He worked as a builder and fixture technician for Bishop Fixture and Millwork in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin before health complications ended his career.
Benjie was happiest when he was kayaking on the Namekagon and St. Croix Rivers. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors at the cabin in Danbury, Wisconsin. Benjie was a skilled woodworker and spent many hours in his shop working on his projects. Benjie had the ability to diagnose and fix almost anything. In his younger days he was a bit of a daredevil on his motorcycle and was always up for an adventure. As he aged that adventurous streak sometimes reappeared when he got behind the wheel of his truck. He will be remembered as soft-hearted, spontaneous, fearless, intelligent, and a hero to his family.
Benjie will forever remain in the hearts of his wife Tamara "Tami"; daughters Sophia and Hannah; siblings, Susan Fennern, and Mike (Chris) Fennern; nieces, Angie, Nickie, Sarah, Brooke, and Mikayla; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Shirley Fennern; and brother Mark (Sandy) Fennern.
A celebration fitting of Benjie's life is being planned. Cards for the family may be mailed to the Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave N, Stillwater, MN 55082, to be forwarded.
