Calvin Bangtson

Calvin Bangtson, age 89, of Stillwater died December 28, 2014. Calvin R. Bangtson was born on December 18, 1925 in St. Paul, MN. He lived in Willmar, MN. He served in the Marine Corps 4th Division, Company 1, 3rd Battalion in World War II., rank of Corporal, three Purple Hearts, Kwajelein and Saikan. He was wounded by a hand grenade, mortar round, machine gunned on both knees. On October 8, 1949 he married Juliann Haman of Berwick, ND. He was proud that all three of his children were doctors. Dr. Lynda Kaye Bangtson, Dr. Bradley Bangtson (Lynn), Dr. Craig Bangtson (Joyce); and granddaughters, Brooke and Tara. Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Friday, January 2, 2014 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Avenue N, Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Stillwater.
