Calvin John Brookman

Calvin "Kelly" Brookman, age 95, of Lake Elmo, passed quietly in hospice care at his residence with his wife Ruth and his son Daniel "Archie" by his side, January 3, 2023. Kelly is survived by his wife Ruth (nee: Barnholdt); children, John (Tracy), Archie (Patrice), and Michael; grandchildren, Ben (Alison), Calvin (Caitlyn), James (Nisha Malhotra) MacDonald, Seth (Jill) James, Kayla (Taylor) and Dillon; great-grandchildren, Paige, Calvin, Raj and Avi; son-in-law, Dale Fayerweather; and many nieces and nephews.
Kelly was preceded in death by his daughter Kelly Ann Fayerweather; father Martin; mother Ethel (nee:Bell); brother Dale; and sister Marion Golden.
Kelly grew up in Bayport MN. A community near to his heart his entire life. He had many relatives in the area, the Bell clan, all with "nick names" ie. Calvin "Kelly".
Kelly was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving towards the end of World War II. Graduating early from Stillwater High School in order to enter the Navy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Church of St. Charles, 409 N. 3rd St., Bayport, MN 55003. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial St. Michael's Cemetery.
