Charles Edwin Anderson

Charles Edwin Anderson, age 83, of Woodbury, died peacefully at home on July 10, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family after complications arising from his battle with Parkinson's.
Charlie was born on July 2, 1939 in Saint Paul, the son of Edna "Marj" (Peterson) and Algot Anderson. He served his country as a US Navy Seabee (MCB 11: 1958-1962). A talented stonemason and bricklayer, he worked for his father before taking over his business and starting Blue Line Construction. Charlie was called to public service and after a brief time as a Maplewood Police Officer became a Saint Paul Police Officer in 1972. He retired with the rank of Sergeant in 1999, impressing upon many his work ethic and steady leadership. Charlie enjoyed fishing, hunting, pickled herring, and crossword puzzles. As he grew older his affection for his children, grandchildren, and great grand-children multiplied.
Charlie is survived by Barbara (Sanft), his loving wife of 47 years; children by Jeannette (Sweeney) Mike (Jean) Anderson, Shellee (Tom) Parenteau, Kaarin (Greg) Hosch, Kristin (Loren) Capeti; children by Barb Charlie (Betsy) Anderson, and Jenny (Cullen) Shields; sister Sandy; and his many grand and great-grandchildren as well as other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn Londino, grandson Wesley Parenteau, and granddaughter Nicole Anderson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Church of St. Michael, 611 S. Third Street, Stillwater, MN 55082, with visitation starting one hour prior to the Mass. A luncheon will be held at the church following Mass. A private interment ceremony will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
