Colleen T Faust, 58, Woodbury, Minnesota, March 24, 2022
Devoted daughter, sister, aunt, godmother and friend. Preceded in death by parents Helen and Malcolm (Mac) Faust. Survived by siblings: Doug; Patrick (Dona); Kathy (Tom Averbeck); Mary (Tom Rucke); Dan (Kim); Dennis (Debbie); Terry (Kim); Tom (Lisa); Shannon (Joe Coughlin); Kevin (Michelle); 27 nieces and nephews; and extended family. Also survived by lifelong and cherished friends including "fourth" sister, Dawn.
Born February 25, 1964, Colleen grew up on the East Side of St. Paul and attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and Hill-Murray High School. She earned a legal secretary diploma from St. Paul Area Technical Vocational Institute and began her career as a legal secretary in 1983. She became a postal employee at the USPS in 1984, where she stayed until retirement in February 2020. While working full time, Colleen earned her BA in Sociology from the University of Minnesota in 2002 as she deeply cared about support for vulnerable children and the elderly.
To know Colleen was to love her. Her life centered around helping others and her heart was huge. She was dedicated to helping her parents, especially her mom, and spent countless hours enjoying their company and caring for them. Her generosity with her siblings was infinite from an empathetic ear to a helping hand to backup childcare and much more. Fondly referred to as "Auntie Spoil," she indulged nephews and nieces with excessive gift-giving, "minimal-rule" sleepovers, road trips and other excursions. Ironically, she was hesitant to ask for help, far more comfortable giving than receiving.
She enjoyed tracking family genealogy and took special pride in her Irish roots. She loved the Minnesota Twins, visiting local casinos and traveling, highlighted by a trip to Ireland with her mom. She leaned on her Catholic faith and was incredibly forgiving, patient and kind: an extraordinary, immeasurable blessing to all who knew her.
