David Patrick Baker

David Patrick Baker, 51, died March 7,2021 in Staunton, VA due to complications of diabetes and heart problems.  Survived by his parents, David and Mary Jo (Kromhout) Baker of Stillwater, his children, Irial Rein and David Michael and their mother, Kristina Martin all of Virginia; his sister, Kristin Baker Niendorf (Eric) their children August, Samuel and Lucia of Eau Claire, Wi. and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his infant brother, Michael Timothy, grandparents, 7 cousins and 2 uncles.  Dave was a 1987 graduate of Hill-Murray H.S.  Dave, or Davey, as he was called by those who loved him, was a sweet, loving person.   He had a great sense of humor and was brilliant with computers.  He loved adventures in N. Minnesota and Canada with his father, who considered Davey his best friend.  In 1996, Dave, his father, four other men, flew by float plane from Northern Manitoba and canoed two weeks into Nunavut, Canada.   Dave especially loved going to the cabin on McFarland Lake near Grand Marais, MN.  We will miss his extra tight hugs.  A private Mass will be held March 19.  We are planning a Celebration of Life at Lakeside Park, Bayport, MN on July 10th, 2021.  Memorials can be sent to TCF Bank, 5850 Neal Ave. N., Stillwater, MN 55082 c/o David Patrick Baker Memorial Fund for his children's education.  Rest in peace our precious son, brother, and father.
