Donald Francis Feider

Feider, Donald F. Age 85 of Stillwater, passed away peacefully at his home after a long battle with cancer on Jan. 19. Born 5/31/29 in Little Falls, he is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ann Feider, and five children: John (Susanne); Christopher (Leah); Annette (John); David (Melinda); and Adele, along with nine grandchildren, and a sister (Bev). Preceded in death by parents John and Hildegard Feider, and brother (Leo). He graduated from De LaSalle High School in Mpls. and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was an active member at St. Michael’s Church in Stillwater. Don instilled a love of music as a public school band director for nearly 40 years, inspiring students in the Graceville, Chisholm and Stillwater schools. After retiring, he ran a successful picture framing business, supporting many artists including his wife, a water colorist and piano teacher. A devoted husband, father and friend, he touched many lives with his knowledge and passion for music.
