Dorothy passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Sunday, December 15, 2024. She was born June 28, 1930 in McGregor, IA, to John and Salome Blackwell and moved to Stillwater, MN, where she graduated from high school in 1948. Dorothy married the love of her life, Jarold Dulon, and moved to his hometown of New Richmond, WI. Jarold and Dorothy lovingly raised their children on the Dulon homestead farm, always making family their priority. Dorothy was a gracious and loving matriarch, and she's leaving behind a wonderful legacy for her family.
Dorothy's face lit up whenever her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids came through the door, and she would get sparkling smiles and hugs in return. She was deeply loved by her family, and she brightened their lives. Her favorite pastimes were hosting her family and collecting their quarters by winning at Rummikub. She and Jarold were also two of the best dancers out on the floor!
Dorothy will remain in the hearts of her children Ann (Larry) Havel, Bruce (Cindy) Dulon, Diane (Laurence) Betterley, and Audrey (Mike) Dums; grandchildren Ryan Dulon, Mark Dulon, Christina Norlien, Mike Josephson, Benjamin Betterley, Katie Katona, Jacob Dums, Jessica Dums, Jess Skudlarek and Jacci Waltz; 17 great grandchildren; her brother Carl (Jane) Blackwell; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jarold, son Michael, grandson Matthew Dums, brother John Blackwell, sister Shirley Greeder and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Michael, Stillwater, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at the Church. Dorothy's Funeral Mass will be livestreamed through The Churches of St. Michael & St. Mary Youtube page.
