Dorothy I. Nesse

Dorothy Inga Rovelstad Nesse, age 89, of Oak Park Heights, MN passed away on 11/29/12. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Arthur C. Nesse, sons Randolph (Margaret), Robert (Rebecca), Ted (Mona), brother Randolph (JoAnna) Rovelstad, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Gordon H. Rovelstad and Wendell M. Rovelstad. Born in Elgin, IL, Dorothy received degrees in Arts and Music from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Sang with the St. Olaf Choir. She directed church choirs and served as a soloist in Massachusetts and later in Michigan. Later in life she earned a Masters Degree in social work and spent 10 years as a mental health counselor for the Oakland County, MI, department of Mental Health. She loved music, birds, fishing, wild mushroom hunting, flowers and wildlife. Memorial service to be held Sunday, 12/9/12 1:oo p.m. at the chapel at Boutwells Landing in Oak Park Heights, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to either North Congregational Church, Music Department, 36520 West Twelve Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48331 or to the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, 60 Cutter Mill Road, Suite 404, Great Neck, NY 11021.
