Born in Stillwater on Dec.1, 1923 and died May 13, 2008 at The Gathering at Boutwells Landing in Stillwater of pancreatic cancer. Preceded in death by his parents Oz and Faith Bronson Conrad. Survived by his wife, Muriel; son Scott of Stillwater; daughter Jane (Don) Richardson of Eagan; grandsons Donald and David Richardson; sister Jane Conrad Gale of Fort Myers Florida; niece Linda (Chris) Sloman of Fort Myers; nephew Tom Gale of Vero Beach FL; cousins Edgerton (Marlys) Bronson of Woodbury and Nancy Anderly of Mpls. Ed graduated from Stillwater High School in 1941. He served with the Eight Air Force in England during WWII and was a Norten Bomb Site specialist. He graduated from Carleton College in 1949 and immediately began his longtime career in television. He began in New York and along the way worked at WTCN-TV (now WCCO), did remote directing for ABC in Chicago, helped launch WDAY-TV in Fargo and arrived in Duluth in 1953 as part of the team that started KBJR-TV (then WDSM-TV) where he stayed for 32 yrs retiring in 1985 to his hometown of Stillwater. The family would like to thank Dr. Bransford, Lakeview Hospice, and The Gathering at Boutwells Landing for their very special care of a special man. Memorial service will be on Friday, May 16th at 11:00 AM at ASCENSION EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 215 N. 4th Street, Stillwater. Visitation for one hour preceding service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Gathering/Lakeview Hospice or Ascension Church Music Fund.
