Gene Ellis Kieper

Gene Kieper, age 80 of Stillwater, passed away at his home in Stillwater on February 4, 2021.

Gene was born on July 4, 1940 in Springfield, MN to Rudolph “Mike” and Loretta Kieper. He graduated from Sanborn High School in 1958. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy where he was honorably discharged after serving three years.

Gene married Sharon Heimendinger of Lamberton on September 26, 1964. They resided for a time in Sanborn, where he worked for Pint’s Garage. They moved to Bayport, and later to Stillwater. He was employed at Lampert Lumber for 34 years, until his retirement.

Gene was a member of the Sanborn American Legion, and a volunteer at Valley Outreach in Stillwater.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 40 years, Sharon; brothers, Richard and Michael; sister, Shirley Fennern; nephew, Mark Fennern; and niece, Michelle Kieper.

Survived by brother, Gerry; sister-in-law, Shari; nieces, nephews; and many loving friends.
