Gerald Raymond Olson

Gerald R. Olson, age 86 of Oak Park Heights, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Jerry was born on March 19, 1937 to Leonard and Julia Olson at the family's home in Northeast Minneapolis. He graduated from Edison High School in 1955. He has been with the love of his life, Judy White, since 1955 and on June 15, 1957 they were united in marriage. Jerry served his country in both the Marine Corps and the Air Force. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for many years until his retirement in 1992, when he began to pursue his passion for farming. Jerry carried a U.S. Patent for the Hyperchannel, the beginning of the internet.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Judy; daughters, Virginia "Ginger" (Dell) Zehm, and Mary (Brian) Hanson; son-in-law, Kris Olson; grandchildren Michelle (Allen), and Tony (Megan), Miles (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Maseyn, Jackson, and Jordan; and many other family member and close friends. He is preceded in death by his daughters, Rebecca and Melissa; grandson Anthony; his parents; and brother, David Olson.

A funeral service for Jerry will be at 12 PM, noon, Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave N, Stillwater, MN. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Sunset Cemetery in Minneapolis.
