Minder, Gladys I. (Fehling) Age 94, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2011 in Naples, Florida. Gladys ('Glady') was born in Minneapolis on August 26, 1917 to Blanche (Round) and Arthur Fehling. A 1934 graduate of Miller Vocational High School, she became a pioneering business woman as the owner of Branham Letter Service, Inc. and was an active and honorary member of Minneapolis Women's Rotary. In 1948, she married Norbert Minder, her business partner and best friend for 53 years. With Norb, her children and friends, she spent many a weekend and weeknight on their boats on the St. Croix. In later years, she and Norb traveled extensively, often by motorhome, across the country, in Europe and in New Zealand. All her life, she was blessed with great neighbors and the best of friends, both in Minnesota and Florida. Glady was unerringly upbeat, and her infectious laugh left everyone with a smile. Her good nature and quick wit will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sandy Minder; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tom Martin; and grandchildren, Jason Minder, Jackie (Mark) Schwarzkopf, Matt (Ashley) Martin, Andy Martin, Brian (Shelly) Boldon and Chris Boldon. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Norb, sister Evelyn, and brothers Harold, Gordon and Robert. Her family extends their heartfelt thanks for the loving care she received from Thelma Sawicki, and the staff at Windsor Place and Avow Hospice. Her life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater, with visitation at the funeral home 1 hour prior to service. Internment at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Avow Hospice & the Salvation Army.
