Hartland "Smiley" George Burnett

After a brief illness, our loving husband, dad, and grandpa left this earth on a beautiful autumn day and has entered Heaven where he will be greeted by our Heavenly Father, his parents Hartland Francis and Emma, brother Bill and other family members and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene, children Robert, Bethann (Jeff) Skogen, Suzanne (Brian) Block, and Joseph; adoring grandchildren, Ryan (Rachel), Collin, Hayden, and Carina; great-grandson Oliver; sisters Bev Bartz and Sue (Dale) Hanson and brothers Jerry (Sue) and Tom (Sandy). Smiley retired from Washington County Sheriff’s department after 26 years serving his community as a kind and compassionate Deputy Sheriff. He served 8 years in the military. We will especially miss his smile and humor. God speed, Smiley. We love you. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 with visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Both are at the Church of St. Michael, 611 Third St. S., Stillwater, MN 55082. We invite you to join us to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
