Helena Atkins

Helena Atkins, age 98 of Mahtomedi formerly of Stillwater passed away on July 5, 2017 at New Perspective Living in Mahtomedi. She was born on November 17, 1918 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. She is survived by her sister, Irene Doucette; daughter, Frances (Gary) Teed; son John Atkins; daughter-in-law, Judie Atkins; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sons, Charles and James “Rusty” Atkins; daughters, Barbara McDermott, Mary McGovern and Dale Ries. Helena was known for her quick wit and always kept everyone laughing. Her feisty nature was another reason those around her found her so endearing. The family would like to thank the staff at both New Perspective Living and St. Croix Hospice for all the loving care and support they provided Helena. Memorials preferred to St. Croix Hospice. There will be a private family celebration at a later date.
