JoAnne Therese D'Andrea, age 85 of St Paul died peacefully on October 18, 2015 after complications of Alzheimer's disease. Preceded in death by her parents, George and Viola Ziniel and sister, Carol Sandberg. Survived by her husband of 65 years Michael; children Mark (Rosemary), Mike (Mary), Patrick, Mary Jo D’Andrea Powers; and sister, Nancy (Don) Lunzer. JoAnne loved her four grandchildren, Nicole, Mike, Tony, and Steven. In addition she loved to play bridge, to golf, water and snow ski; and walk, which she did regularly, even as she struggled with her disease. She was accomplished in American Sign Language and helped the deaf at schools, church and in their daily lives. She also collected and restored antiques. She volunteered to help handicapped children and was active in church. While in North Carolina she and Michael were active in the art community, supporting the Artist League of the Sandhills, and owned and ran a framing shop. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Church of St. Michael, 611 S. Third St., Stillwater, MN 55082 with visitation for one hour prior to the Mass at church. Private interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimers Association.
