John Charles Loperfido

John C. Loperfido, age 74 of Stillwater passed away on March 11, 2018. John was the oldest of 7 children, born September 19th, 1943 to John and Mary Loperfido of Auburn, NY. He attended Mt. Carmel High School, Auburn Community College, the University of Alaska where he obtained BS and MS degrees, and Michigan State University where he obtained his PhD in Organic Chemisty in 1972. John worked for 3M for 28 years as a Lab Manager and Research Chemist where he was a part of many successful patents. He married Bonnie Britch on May 25th, 1968 in Anchorage, AK. John was interested in woodworking, genealogy, Minnesotan and Italian histories, and PEZ. He had a quick wit and was known for his brilliant puns. John was preceded in death by grandparents; parents; and brother, Joe. He is survived by wife, Bonnie; daughter, Gina (Dennis); sons, J.V. (Kim) and Nick (Kim); and grandchildren, Madelyne, Luke, Caleb, Benjamin, Vinnie, Ruthie, and Jacob; sisters, Katherine, Frances, and Margaret; brothers, Mike and Bernie; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Church of St. Charles, 409 N. 3rd St., Bayport, MN 55003 with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice Care at Lakeview Health Foundation of Stillwater, MN.
