John G. Welshons

Welshons, John Gordon of Stillwater, Minnesota January 1, 1937-July 7, 2013 Died peacefully on July 7, 2013, surrounded by his family. Survived by wife, Lois (Schrantz); son Tim (Ann); daughters Sarah (Stephen) Bennett, Kate (Scott) Mensen; brothers Benjamin (Margaret) and Mervyn (Echo) Welshons, and grandchildren Nicholas, Jack, and Daniel Welshons; Samuel, William, and John Bennett; Charlotte, Caroline, and Joseph Mensen. Preceded in death by parents Mervyn and Charlotte (Hassman) Welshons, brother Glendon, sisters-in-law Margaret Schrantz and Margaret (Parent) Schrantz. John was passionate about his family and his friendships, his time spent at Teal Lake, researching family history, and his ongoing spiritual quest. John began his professional life as a teacher and spent many years in publishing at George A. Pflaum, Winston Press, and American Guidance Service. Services will be held on Thursday, July 11, at 11:00 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 214 North 3rd Street, Stillwater. Visitation at the church from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. before the service.
