John A. Burrill Beloved husband,father,grandfather and friend Age 63 of Marine on St. Croix Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends January 15,2007. Preceded in death by parents Frances and Wallace Burrill. Survived by wife of 29 years Sandra; children Jessica(Bob)O'Donnell, Eric(Amie)Burrill; step-children Renee(Rob)Stafford, Richard Read,Michael(Karen)Read, Suzanne Schlichting; 7 grandchildren; sisters Barbara(Louis)Birchem, Nancy(Gerald)Miller; and many other relatives and good friends. John was born in St. Paul Minnesota. He attended St. Paul Central High School. John filled his life with many endeavors. He was a member of the Army National Guard, he was an inspection supervisor for the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant in Arden Hills and he was an accomplished real-estate salesman for The Spring Co./Coldwell Banker. One of John's most rewarding accomplishments was owning and rejuvenating Marine Landing in Marine on St. Croix. John and Sandy's tireless efforts remade the Landing into a focal point for many on the river and served the St. Croix River community for 21 years. John's life was full. He loved great jokes, great food, great friends and had a great passion for fishing. Whether on the St. Croix or on one of many trips to Canada with family and friends, the camaraderie and competition for fishing prowess brought him great joy. John also loved being a Minnesota "snow-bird" at the family condo in Palm Beach Florida. For all who loved John the void left by his passing will not be filled. His absolute enjoyment of life, his fierce love for his family and friends and his great humor will be forever missed. Memorial Service 11 AM Saturday January 20, 2007 at Christ Lutheran Church, 150 5th St., Marine on St. Croix. Visitation 5-8 PM Friday January 19, 2007 and also 1 hour prior to the service. EVERYTHING AT CHURCH. Memorials preferred.
