Joseph Raymond Albert

Passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Joe was born August 13, 1941 in Baraboo, WI to Ray and Helen Albert. Joe spent his early years in Wisconsin and Iowa, settling in Minneapolis and graduating from Osseo Senior High in 1959. He served in the US Navy on board the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier, followed by the Naval reserves. After the service, he worked as a journeyman electrician until his retirement. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Grant Albert and his nephew, Johnnie Ray Davis. He is survived by his mother, Helen Albert; 2 sisters, Ruth Davis and Jane Schaefer; 2 brothers Gene (Becky) Albert and Marty Albert; children Gary (La Shawn) Albert, Mike (Jennie) Albert and Donna Albert; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. The family would like to express their gratitude to Lighthouse of Columbia Heights staff for their excellent and compassionate care of Joe. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Tuesday, August 26th at 2PM, meet in lane #4 at 1:45. Reception following at the Community Center in The Dover Hills Senior Building, 2400 Rhode Island Avenue North, Golden Valley.
