Joseph G. O'Brien

Joseph G. O'Brien, age 62 of Stillwater, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December 17, 2024 at Regions Hospital following a heart attack. Joe was born April 23, 1962 in Stillwater to Joseph and Mary (McCarthy) O'Brien. He grew up in Stillwater and graduated from Stillwater High School with the class of 1980.

Joe enjoyed regular visits to the local coffee shops in Stillwater and was fond of listening to classic rock and watching hockey. He had a soft spot in his heart for his grand-niece Nora and was delighted at the opportunity to play games with his nieces and nephews, or take them to breakfast at McDonalds.

Joe is survived by his sisters Mary O'Brien (Steve) Black, Colleen O'Brien (Tom Peterson), Ann O'Brien (Todd) Butterfield; brothers Daniel (Mary Kay) and David; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Church of Saint Michael, 611 S. 3rd St., Stillwater, MN 55082 with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass in the church atrium. Private family burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery, Bayport, MN.
