Lawrence E Mccabe

Larry passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. He was born on September 12, 1924, in Hibbing, MN to Lawrence and Grace (LaVaque) McCabe. He graduated from Hibbing High School in 1942 and enlisted as a Naval cadet and graduated from Corpus Christie in 1944 as a Naval Aviator. He joined the Naval Reserve in 1946. Larry met Mary “Geega” Albani and the two married on September 25, 1948 at Immaculate Conception Church in Hibbing. In 1952 Larry was called back to active duty as a night fighter pilot in the Korean Conflict. Larry is survived by his sons Lawrence J. (Kathleen) McCabe of St. Petersburg, FL, and Thomas E. McCabe of Bayport, MN; grandchildren, Kelly, Harley, Shelby, and Sara. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 409 3rd St. N, Bayport, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Bayport. Arrangements handled by Simonet Funeral Home, Stillwater.
