Linda Culhane

Linda Jeanne (Gierok) Culhane, age 71, of Stillwater, Minnesota passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota surrounded by her husband and children. Linda was born in Saint Paul on July 15, 1953, to Jerome and Josephine (Kulstad) Gierok. She was a 1971 graduate of Johnson High School in Saint Paul. Linda married Roger Culhane at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on April 20, 1974.

Roger and Linda moved to Menomonie, Wisconsin in 1984 with their three young children. Linda was an active parish and school board member at Saint Joseph Catholic Church and School and worked at Myrtle Werth Medical Center and the University of Wisconsin - Stout. She worked as a medical transcriptionist and also put her incredible typing skills to use in several secretarial settings. Linda eventually found her perfect position as the beloved receptionist and office mom to many graduate students and patients in the Speech-Language and Hearing Clinics at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls.

Linda was known for her beautiful smile and bright blue eyes. She had a special gift for comforting those around her and a kind, loving, and giving personality. She gave the best hugs. Linda loved to talk with anyone and everyone. She was especially excited to meet people who had also grown up on Saint Paul's east side. Linda loved having her teenagers' friends in the house and was quick to offer snacks and a pop and join in the conversation. She made delicious caramel bars, mint brownies, and her famous fudge for countless family gatherings, funerals at their church, and other community events. Roger and Linda spent much time traveling together, especially after retirement. They loved road trips, adventures, and seeing new places. Roger took photos of Linda and selfies together at every stop. Their fridge is filled with souvenir magnets collected along the way.

Linda was the best friend and cherished wife of Roger for fifty years. In her final years, she was cared for by Roger, her constant companion, with love, patience, and compassion that was an inspiration to all who knew them. Though her memories became clouded over the years, her smile continued, and her face lit up seeing her family.

Linda was the mother of Matthew Culhane, Kelly Tyler (Shawn), and Jeffrey Culhane. She was grandma to Kaedyn, Teagan, and Riley Erickson, Evelyn, Jude, Maria, and Joseph Tyler. She is missed so much by all of them. Linda is also survived by her four brothers Glenn Gierok, Greg Gierok (Nora), Dave Gierok (Denise), and Mark Gierok (Jodi) and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Wednesday August 28, 2024, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church,16770 13th St. S., Lake Saint Croix Beach, Minnesota. There will be a visitation from 9-10am at the church prior to Mass. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the church immediately following.
