Lloyd Ivan Zieske

Lloyd Ivan Zieske, age 89 of Stillwater, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at Brookdale of Blaine Assisted Living. He was born and raised in the Courtland/New Ulm, MN area. After high school he entered the Army and served his country during WWII. Following the war he received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U of MN. Lloyd was employed with the Minnesota Prison at Stillwater, Sperry-Univac, Control Data and ending with Andersen Windows. He was a long-time leader in the Boy Scouts, youth athletics, and a track & field judge. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Toastmasters. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and spending winters in Mesa, AZ with the other MN snowbirds. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and his siblings; Marvin, Eldon, Audrey, and Maynard. Lloyd is survived by his children; Thomas (Becky), Larry (Carol), Lynn Richard (Sara), and Theresa; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Lloyd will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Simonet Funeral Home with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Assembly Area #5. Memorials preferred to St. Croix Hospice. A special thank you to the staff at Brookdale of Blaine.
