Lois M Nelson

Lois M. Nelson Age 86 of Stillwater Loving Mother and Grandmother Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Boutwells Landing surrounded by her three daughters. Lois was born April 17, 1927 in New Richmond, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bernard and Katherine (Stevens) Heffron. She grew up in New Richmond and attended the College of St. Catherine. Afterward she spent time in the banking industry in New York and St. Paul. On October 7, 1961 she was united in marriage to William “Nelly” Nelson in New Richmond. Lois loved golf, bridge, reading and traveling, but most of all she loved her family. Proceeded in death by her husband, William and her parents. Survived by her daughters Mary Jo (Mike) Neuman, Carol (Mike) Smith, and Gayle Nelson; granddaughters Nell and Kalle Smith. Also survived by many family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Church of St. Michael, 611 3rd St. S., Stillwater, Minnesota, 55082. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater, Minnesota, 55082 and also 1 hour prior to the Mass at church. Burial will be 3 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. Michael Cemetery in Bayport, Minnesota. Memorials are preferred to the St. Croix Catholic School or to Lakeview Hospice.
