Lorraine Hazel (Swenson) Rydeen

April 13, 1923 — May 14, 2024

Lorraine Rydeen, age 101, passed away peacefully May 14th, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Kenneth Rydeen (1998) and sister Beatrice Skoglund (2005).

She is survived by 6 children Gary Rydeen, Tana Dunkirk, Tari Rydeen, Sara Zeuli, Jani Lindstrom, and Kari "Fred" Rydeen; 12 grandchildren Louie, Paul; Todd, Sean, Kellie; Mathew, Michael, Jessie, Marcus; Brianna; Loni, Billy; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Lorraine was born April 13th, 1923 on the family farm in Scandia Township. It was a small working farm and she and her sister worked alongside their parents with all the farm chores. They raised and grew their own food so everything was organic, which Lorraine said contributed to her long life.

Lorraine wrote her book "Farmers Daughter" while in her 90's and also had her "Health Cookie" recipe published in the Valley Co-op's 20th anniversary cookbook.

Lorraine was a woman of God and much wisdom. She would load up her car every Sunday to bring her grandchildren and great grandchildren to Sunday school, and sometimes even the neighborhood children. She also dedicated her time volunteering at many nursing homes feeding and caring for the elderly.

She will be deeply missed.

Psalms 100:5
For the Lord is always good. He is always loving and kind, and his faithfulness goes on and on to each generation
