Marie E. Middleton

Marie E. Middleton (McDonough),(nee Gordon), Born October 8, 1909, Died March 1, 2009. Died peacefully at home last Sunday. Marie was married in 1931 to John J. McDonough, who was Mayor of St. Paul from 1940 to 1948. During those years, Marie was active in many civic and cultural groups, including active service in the American Red Cross during WWII. In 1944, she christened the heavy cruiser USS St. Paul in Quincy, Massachusetts, and remained active in the USS St. Paul Association throughout the rest of her life.
