Marion C Thompson

Age 97 Longtime resident of Bayport. Marion C. Thompson passed away peacefully on August 11, 2014 from congestive heart failure at the age of 97. She was born on October 12, 1916 to Fred G. and Edla S. (Peterson) Thompson on the family farm outside of Cushing, WI. At an early age Marion and her family moved to Bayport and she attended grade school in Bayport and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1934. Marion spent most of her working years as a secretary at the Minnesota State Prison. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bayport where her funeral will be held on August 14, 2014 at 2PM with a one hour visitation prior to the service. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Burnell and his wife Alveda (Simonson); nephew Rev. Gerald L. Thompson and many friends. She is survived by a nephew Wayne (Shirley) Thompson of Bayport, MN; two nieces Linda (Dean) Lindstrom of New Richmond, WI, and Joan (Alvin) Vassall of Miami, FL; special cousin Marcellene Ward of Las Vegas, NV and her two sons Mark Ward of St. Louis, MO and David (Janet) Ward of Henderson, NV; two very dear friends Mary (Richard) Strand of Bloomington, MN and Joan (Terry) Morehouse of Waconia, MN; and many other friends and relatives. Memorials appreciated to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Bayport.
