Mark Edward Gunderson

Mark E. Gunderson, age 89 of Stillwater, MN, died at home, April 21, 2017. Mark was a modest man and a role model: always a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He was kind, generous and welcoming; if you were his friend, it was a lifelong friendship. He loved to golf and he loved to laugh; his wit kept everyone else laughing, also. And the love he showered on his family was returned endlessly to him. Preceded in death by parents, William and Clare; brothers, Lawrence, Gene, John, Bill, Joe; and sister, Mary Reeves. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Diana; loving children, Debby (Jim) Hauble, Dan (Lori), Cindy (Mike) Roche, Patty (Dan) Ayers, Linda (Don) Monn, Sue (Rich) Keller, and Diane Lester (fiancé Marty Irvin); 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dave and Len; and sisters, Margaret Trent and Rita McMenomy. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, at the Church of St. Michael, 611 S. 3rd St., Stillwater, MN 55082, with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass in the church atrium. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Bayport, MN. A special thank-you to Lakeview Hospice for its loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Church of St. Michael, Stillwater, Minn., Lakeview Hospice, or the Jesuit Retreat House - Demontreville, Lake Elmo, Minn.
