Mary Margaret Simonet OUR BUDDY WE LOVE YOU Age 59 of Stillwater Died peacefully in her sleep Thursday morning (Jan. 30). Proceeded in death by her devoted parents, Phyllis & Jim; sisters in law; Bonnie & Sue; and brother in law, Bill Edwards. Survived by her loving family, sisters: Pat & Phyllis; brothers, Jack (Shirley), Bob (Cheryl), Jim (Sue), Wiley (Deb), Tom, & Joe (Ramona); many nieces & nephews; grandnieces & nephews; great grandnieces & nephews; many dear relatives & friends & countless others whose lives she touched. Together with her parents, she helped found the District 834 Special Education Program which initiated mainstreaming. Mary was a longtime, acknowledged & awarded special employee at Midwest Special Services Inc. As a toddler she was a poster child promoting the Minnesota Vikings Camp Courage Program. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday Feb. 3 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 423 S. Fifth St., Stillwater. Visitation 2 to 5 PM Sunday, Feb. 2 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. No., Stillwater. Visitation also one hour before Mass with a 10:45 eulogy service at the church. Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Bayport. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Pacer Center or St. Croix Lumberjacks (Special Olympics teams).
