Myron “Mike” Wallace Scullen Passed away Friday, September 8, 2017, at 92.5 years of age. Mike was born March 6, 1925, in Red Wing, MN, to Rueben and Alta Scullen. He moved to Stillwater as a child, living on the north hill just off the 8th hole of Stillwater Country Club. Mike graduated from Stillwater High School in 1943. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and trained on and flew B17 and B29 airplanes during WWII. He retired as a Major from the United States Air Force Reserves March 6, 1985. Mike married high school sweetheart, Dorothy Ann White, on November 15, 1947. Together they raised 7 children. A talented man who could fix anything, Mike worked in the milk business – Maple Island, Dairy Home, and his own company, Country House. He enjoyed playing golf, taking care of his lawn and watching baseball and football. Mike was a 70 year member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Croix Catholic School Board member, Cub Scout leader, former Grand Knight and member of the Stillwater Knights of Columbus, and New Richmond Golf Club and Stillwater County Club member. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Clementine (Albert Philips), Bernice (Irv Hemenway), Carol (Harry Campbell), Grace (Joseph Hosch), Palma (William Pratt), Joyce (George Worden); and brother, Earl (Helen) Scullen. Mike is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Robert (Gina), Martha (Melvin) Metz, David (Christine), Rosemary (Alan) Hofer, James, Joan (Ed) Ziemek, and Raymond (Julie); 26 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Warren Scullen (Lois); sisters-in-law, Virginia Daniels (Bob) and Jean Gillen (Ted); many nieces and nephews; fellow Knights; and avid golfers! Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 13, at the Church of Saint Michael, 611 S. 3rd St, Stillwater, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 12, at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater, MN and also one hour prior to the Mass in the church atrium. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Michael’s Catholic Church or the Stillwater Knights of Columbus.
