Patricia Margaret (Carroll) Schmidt

Patricia "Pat" Margaret (Carroll) Schmidt, also known as Pat, passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 84 in Stillwater, Minnesota. Pat was born on March 27, 1939, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to her parents Edward and Rose Carroll. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Fred and Martha Schmidt.

Pat had a fulfilling life, filled with love and cherished relationships. She was married to Richard Schmidt, lovingly known as Dick, for 63 years. Together, they built a beautiful family and created lasting memories. Pat is survived by her devoted husband Dick, her children Dennis Schmidt (Patty), Joe Schmidt (Mary), Scott Schmidt (Trista), Michelle Schmidt, and Becky Koehler (Justin). She was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren: Holly (Brett), Monica, Sam, Gianna, Christy, Colette, Alex, Noah, Oliver, Bentley, Lilly, Bobby, Lexy, Montana, Eli, and great-grandchild Carson. Pat also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Pat's dedication to caring for others extended beyond her family. She worked as a nurse at Greeley Nursing Home for over 25 years, touching the lives of countless individuals. Later in life, she worked for the bus company in Stillwater as an aid, continuing to bring joy and support to those around her.

In her free time, Pat had a vibrant personality and pursued various hobbies. She loved playing bingo, attending ceramic classes every Tuesday, and joining the ladies for breakfast on Monday mornings. Pat had a heart of gold and cherished her relationships with everyone she met. She was an avid sports fan, passionately cheering on the Stillwater Ponies football team and the Minnesota Vikings. Pat also loved going to the casinos and exploring new areas while traveling. Above all, she found immense joy in supporting and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events.

Patricia Margaret Schmidt, or Pat as she was affectionately known, will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will forever be remembered.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Stillwater, Minnesota with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Following the Mass, Pat will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery.
