Patrick Frank Kearney was born in February 1934 in St. Paul to Vincent and Helen (Steidl) Kearney. He was a 1952 graduate of Mahtomedi High School and was united to wife Irene in marriage in September of 1953. Pat served in the US Coast Guard and upon returning home started his lifelong career as a cabinetmaker and carpenter. Building and creating were two of Pat’s greatest gifts, building numerous houses for his family before moving them to a farm in rural May Township in 1967. Pat worked hard for his family, providing a life of education and experiences for his four children. He and Irene took many trips around the country and after retirement spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona, first in a motorhome and then in two more beautiful hand-built homes. Pat also blessed each of his children and grandchildren with hand-built furniture that will be treasured forever. He is survived by his wife; children: Denise (Dave) Swager, Kathleen (Steven) Herberg, and Christopher (Carrie); son-in-law: Steve Anderson; grandchildren: Deanna, Matthew, Megan, Molly, Kelvin, Vincent, Zachary, Justin, Avery and Austin; and great grandchildren: Morgen and Wesley. He was preceeded in death by his parents, daughter Carrie Jo and grandson Patrick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Church of St. Michael, 611 S. Third St, Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at church. Memorials are preferred to Habitat for Humanity.
