Pauline (Gram) Kavanagh Pauline Kavanagh lived a long and full life for 95 years and enriched the lives of all who knew her. She died peacefully at home on April 7th after a short illness. In January she held court and celebrated her 95th birthday at brunch at the Lake Elmo Inn with her family including three great grandchildren. She was a kind, outgoing, dignified, gracious lady who understood her core values and lived by them. Born in Pennsylvania in 1914, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland early in her married life with her husband Jim Kavanagh where she became an avid Baltimore Orioles and Colts fan and a lover of Chesapeake Bay crabs. She worked for the Baltimore Co. Bd of Education and was a founding member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Loch Raven, Maryland. She and Jim had one child, Larry. She was preceded in death by her husband who died at a young age in 1959. After retirement she moved to Marine on St. Croix to be close to her son and his family but lived a very independent life there. She soon acquired her own friends and enjoyed an active new life in Marine. She enjoyed trips to Europe with friends, and other places like Mexico, Hawaii and a cruise or two. The best part of her new life in Minnesota was seeing her two granddaughters, Jennifer Holloway and Megan Kavanagh grow up, and her three great grandchildren. Pauline (Gram) is survived by her son Larry and wife Judy, granddaughters Jennifer Holloway (Scott) and Megan Kavanagh (Mike Zajac) and great grandchildren Caitlin Zajac, Grace Holloway, and Peter Zajac. Special thanks to all her many long time friends including Martha Burch, Hope Henderson, and Jenny Malmberg in MN, Jeanne Dodd in Baltimore and Sally Billman in Virginia. Her family would like to express their profound thanks to the staff at Good Samaritan in Stillwater for their special care, the staff and doctors at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, especially Dr. Charles Bransford, and Lakeview Hospice, for their skill and very kind care. In lieu of flowers, her family would like any gifts or memorials to be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Marine or the Marine Fire & Ambulance. A memorial service will be held at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 150 5th street, Marine on St. Croix, MN on April 22 at 11 AM with lunch to follow. Private internment.
