Phyllis B. Honsvall

Phyllis B. Honsvall A funeral service for Phyllis B. Honsvall, 84, of Stillwater, MN will be held at 11 am on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Internment will be at Grafton Lutheran Church Cemetery in Grafton, ND at a later date. Phyllis passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009 at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Ralph; daughters, Joanne of Stillwater, Mary Lou of Scandia, sons, Paul of Edina and Jim of Stillwater and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by parents, Matthew and Clara Peterson, and Sister Geraldine. Phyllis was born on the family farm near St. Thomas, ND on December 12, 1924. She attended St. Thomas schools. She was married to Ralph I. Honsvall on August 6, 1943 in Grand Forks, ND. Together, they raised their children in Grafton, ND. Phyllis was always active in the community, a member of the Grafton Lutheran Church circle group, American Legion auxiliary, Grafton Deaconess Hospital auxiliary, Eastern Star and Homemakers club. In 1971, Phyllis and Ralph purchased River Oaks Lodge on the Rainy River near Baudette, MN and operated that until 1989. In addition to running the resort, Phyllis was active with the Wabanica Lutheran Church quilters and circle groups. After selling the resort in 1989 Phyllis and Ralph split their time between their lake home on the Rainy River and Stillwater. Phyllis was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker and will be deeply missed by her family.
