Shirley Jahnke

Shirley A. Jahnke (nee Schaefer), age 65, passed away at her home in Lake Elmo on April 28, 2006, after a courageous battle with corticobasal degeneration. She was a very active person throughout her life raising a family of four, and then retiring from Wells Fargo Bank after 19 years of service. She enjoyed camping, skiing, canoeing, boating and many other outdoor activities. Shirley especially cherished the time she spent with family and friends. Despite physical limitations in her final years, Shirley continued to enjoy life to its fullest; she was an inspiration to all. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Philomena Schaefer, and her brother, Roger. She is survived by her loving husband, Roland; daughter, Lisa (Paul) Hartinger; sons, Dwayne (Kelly), Darren (Teri), and Troy (Tricia); ten (10) grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jane (Robert) Cole, and Judy (Orvin) Underdahl; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation Tuesday, May 2, 2006, from 5-8pm at GUARDIAN ANGELS CHURCH, 8260 Hudson Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at 10:00am GUARDIAN ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 8260 Hudson Blvd., with viewing one hour prior to services.
