Verna Helen Bloom

Verna Bloom, age 78 of Woodbury, was called home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2015 after a long courageous fight with several complicated medical conditions. She maintained a positive attitude throughout her illnesses and always relied on her faith. Verna’s spirit was contagious and she made an impression on everyone who met her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Irv; children, Sue (Denny) Malecha, Sheri (Mike) Garcia, and John (Janice) Bloom; grandchildren, John and Dale Malecha, Ed and Nick Garcia, and Tricia and Katie Bloom; great-grandson, Xander Garcia; sisters Betty Herzfeld, Jean Schad, and Adeline Wold. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Meta (Haase) Steffen. Funeral will be 11 a.m., Thursday, March 5, 2015 with visitation for one hour prior all at Sheperd of the Valley Church, 14107 Hudson Road S., Afton, MN 55001.
