Walter George Gleason

Walter “Wally” George Gleason Age 88 Died Saturday, May 27, 2017 He was born the son of John A. and Mary Jane Gleason on September 1, 1928. He moved to Stillwater, Minnesota after marrying Iona (Kromrey) Gleason on May 16, 1953. He worked for and retired from the Washington County Highway Department. Walter also had a landscaping and tree trimming business. He loved to deer hunt and go fishing. Walter is preceded in death by Iona, his wife of 53 years; his parents; and siblings, Edward, Adeline Peskar, Irven, Harvey, Mercedes Nelson, William, Kenneth, Marcel, Josephine Kennedy, and Mary Jane Mack. Walter is survived by his three children, Christine (Melvin) Felling, Gregory (Lori) Gleason, and Garrett (Patricia) Gleason; and his eight grandchildren, Adam Felling, Sara Felling, Andrew Felling, Matthew Felling; Ann (Cole) Gilman, Brian Gleason; Sandra Gleason, and Troy Gleason. Walter is also survived by his brother, Raymond (Donna) Gleason; and two sisters, Margaret (Forrest) Rowe and Eleanor (Frank) Madsen; brother-in-law, Paul Mack; and sister-in-law, Helen Gleason. The family extends a special thank you to Boutwells Landing and Lakeview Hospital for the wonderful care given to our Dad. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Church of St. Michael, 611 S. 3rd St., Stillwater, MN 55082 with a visitation to begin at 9:30 a.m. in the church atrium. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Bayport, MN.
