Walter "Red" A. Eggert

Walter “Red” A. Eggert Age 85 of Stillwater, MN Loving husband and father Walter passed away March 26, 2018. He was born May 5, 1932 in rural Anoka County. He grew up on a farm where he discovered his love for animals and the outdoors. Walter enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as woodworking. Walter worked 40+ years at Soderberg Optical until his retirement. He is survived by his children, Christina (Michael) Schell, and Anthony; cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. Walter was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Charlotte Marie; parents, Benedict and Frances; and brother, Robert. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Church of Saint Michael, 611 S. 3rd St., Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater, MN as well as one hour prior to the Mass in the church atrium. Burial will be at Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Bayport, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lakeview Hospice.
