Wayne George Wohlers

Wayne George Wohlers Age 76 of Stillwater Passed away on Saturday night, April 7th surrounded by his family. Wayne was born and raised in Stillwater, MN on May 4th, 1941, the son of George and Phyllis (nee Seggelke) Wohlers. He was a distinguished and active member of the Stillwater community that he loved and contributed to as a business owner and operator of Kinsel’s Liquor Store for over 40 years, founder of the Stillwater Area Hockey Association (along with his cousin Dick Seggelke), a long time usher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (aka “Wayne The Usher Man”), and an avid fisherman of the St. Croix River (aka “Walleye Wayne”). Wayne’s most important contributions were as a dedicated, loving, and proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an adoring husband and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol. He was a dedicated father, survived by daughters, Polly, and Mandy (Diane); and son, Nick (Michelle); and a was a proud, proud grandpa survived by grandchildren, Jeff (Beth), Kallie, Jackson, McKenna, Morgan, Lucy; and great-grandson, Max. Wayne is also survived by his brother, Roger (Mary); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We will all miss him dearly. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 423 S. 5th St., Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Ave. N., Stillwater, MN 55082 as well as one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Bayport, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Alzheimer’s Association, or Valley Outreach.
